Do you have a favorite musical? 📚 Last night I was lucky enough to get to see Be More Chill with @miss_melissalee. The show is based on a novel by Ned Vizzini about a nerd who hopes that using a supercomputer called a squip to tap into his brain will help him be more chill and win the girl of his dreams. But it turns out Japanese nanotechnology supercomputers can have agendas of their own and, well, things don’t go as planned. 📚 The musical production was a lot of fun. The bare bones set was used to great effect with fun lighting and backdrop changes. The small ensemble cast were all fantastic (and all of them had a chance to shine). Plus the show is hysterical. My face was sore from laughing so much by the end of the night. 📚 There’s a lot of love in this show but my favorite train of wisdom is this: 🎵🎶🎵”When you love someone you put your pants on.”🎶🎵🎶 📚 #instabooks #beatthebacklist2019 #musical #instareads #bookishmusicals #bookworm #bookblogging #bookblogger #bookstagrammer #bibliophile #booklove #bookphotography #instabook #reading #reader #booktography #bookstagram #beautifulbooks #booksofinstagram #goodreads #bookaholic #bookish #bookishfeature #bookstafeatures #bookstagramfeature #readersofinstagram #unitedbookstagram #bemorechill #bemorechillmusical #beatthebacklist

How My Week Went:

This week was an emotional roller coaster. The heat and humidity made me sick at work. But then I got a surprise invite from my friend Melissa to see Be More Chill and it was totally delightful and just what I needed this week.

What I Read:

I finally finished Inventing Ourselves! It was really dense but informative. That said, you can also watch Sarah-Jayne Blakemore’s TED Talk to get the information a lot faster. I tried House of Salt and Sorrows. It wasn’t for me. And now I’m reading Queen of Ruin which I have been excitedly waiting for since I read Grace and Fury last year.

Weekly Questions:

  • How was your week?
  • What are you reading?
  • How often do you make/eat toast?
