Sometimes the best books are complete surprises. 📚 Sometimes the best photos are too. 📚 I snapped this pic of With the Fire on High this morning when I noticed that the hardcover totally matched my subway. 📚 I hadn’t been sure what to expect from Acevedo’s prose debut but guess what? It’s even better than her verse debut The Poet X. 📚 This contemplative story follows Emoni, a high school senior trying to do the best she can for herself, her daughter, and her grandmother. 📚 With the Fire on High is a dynamic book filled with food, cooking, family, and lots of love. If it isn’t already on your radar, be sure to add it to your to read list ASAP! 📚 #instabooks #currentlyreading #amreading #instareads #lovereading #bookworm #bookblogging #bookblogger #bookstagrammer #bibliophile #booklove #bookphotography #instabook #reading #reader #booktography #bookstagram #beautifulbooks #booksofinstagram #goodreads #bookaholic #bookish #bookishfeature #bookstafeatures #bookstagramfeature #readersofinstagram #unitedbookstagram #ditchthatjacket #withthefireonhigh #elizabethacevedo

My Thoughts on The Week:

Aside from a couple of sleepless nights this week was pretty good. I had my annual review and it went really well. My interns finished for the term so I can finally focus on other things. I wrote an entire report for a work committee alone over two days so I never have to think about it again. And I even saw a friend for dinner last night. What a week!

Weekly Questions:

  • How was your week?
  • What are you reading?
  • What’s one thing you liked about yourself this week?
