Week in Review: May 25

Guys. I am so happy this week is over and that I’m off next week. I’m excited for the downtime. I’m excited to sit outside with my mom. I’m excited for the people I’ll see and the books I’ll hear about at BookExpo.

This week was a long object lesson in letting go of outcomes I can’t control and reminding myself that even if I could fix everything, some problems are not mine to solve. I won’t lie, it’s been a bitter pill to swallow but I think after spending a lot of the last few months trying to make things happen I need to step back and just let things happen for a while. Which is hard because a lot of my personal development for the last couple of years has been trying to learn how to be more active and take more chances. But I think there can be a difference between being open to things happening and closing yourself off so maybe that’s another lesson.

Also I’m on a bookmark at work now:

How was your week? What are you reading?
