Week in Review: May 12–The Longest Week

missprintweekreviewThis week on the blog you can check out:

I’m behind on blog review writing again and this week has just felt endless for some reason (it probably doesn’t help that I’m working today too *cry*).

This week I hit level 35 in Pokemon Go. I tried a new Hybrid Smart Watch from Fossil but it didn’t work as well as I had hoped so I am returning it. I finished Royals by Rachel Hawkins–super fun. And I’m squeezing in Starry Eyes by Jenn Bennett before knuckling down to read some review books. It also promises to be super fun so far.

Building my ~brand~ on Instagram and Litsy has been a lot of work. I am debating just deleting Litsy and never going back. Instagram I’m trying to be more zen about but it’s hard.

I think I need to do a big weeding of my TBR piles at home too. It’s getting out of hand (again) and I like to be in better shape before BookExpo. I have been thinking about the books I’m so excited to read that I get to them immediately. And I have realized that maybe *that* needs to the criteria for if a book sits in my bookcase. If I don’t want to read it right away, do I want to read it all? Maybe not. (Thank you to my idol, Marie Kondo who includes similar advice in her book AKA my holy grail The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up.)

Speaking of BookExpo, I am going this year again with my bestie Nicole. We are both very excited. Let me know in the comments if I’ll be seeing you there!

Oh and since it’s flower season, I think I might start doing a weekly flower break. Here’s the first one:

Here are two of my favorite posts I shared on Instagram this week:

Do you make time for backlist books?📚 PLACES NO ONE KNOWS by Brenna Yovanoff is one of my favorite releases from a couple of years ago (2016). 📚 Waverly Camdenmar doesn't sleep. She runs instead going as fast and as far as her legs will allow until she can't think and the only option is collapse. Then the sun comes up, she pastes on her best face, and pretends everything is normal. It's easy to hide behind her academic achievements and the popularity her best friend Maribeth so covets. 📚 Marshall Holt is too apathetic to pretend anything is normal in his life or even remotely okay. Neither has been true about his family or his life for quite some time. He doesn't care because he's busy trying to lose himself in the oblivion of drinking too much, smoking too much, and making too many bad decisions. It's been working great so far except for the whole maybe not graduating thing. 📚 Waverly and Marshall are used to watching each other from afar–a little wary and a little hungry–but never anything more. Not until Waverly's attempt at deep relaxation dreams her into Marshall's bedroom and everything changes. 📚 Now when the sun comes up Waverly's carefully ordered world is stifling instead of safe. After years of trying not to feel anything, Marshall is feeling far too much. Waverly and Marshall thought they knew exactly who they were and who they could be. Now neither of them is sure what that means. 📚 📚 #instabooks #currentlyreading #amreading #instareads #bookgram #bookworm #bookblogging #bookblogger #bookstagrammer #bibliophile #booklove #bookphotography #instabook #reading #reader #booktography #bookstagram #igreads #booksofinstagram #goodreads #bookaholic #bookish #bookishfeature #bookstafeatures #bookstagramfeature #readersofinstagram #unitedbookstagram #brennayovanoff #placesnooneknows #beyourself

Do you ever read new-to-you classics? 📚 I try to but sometimes they’re hard to fit in when reading starts to feel like a job between reading for work and for the blog. BUT I am making time for this beautiful edition of I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith. I was sold from the moment I read Jenny Han’s forward and now that things are Starting To Happen I can’t wait to see what Cassandra will reveal about her family and the castle next. 📚 I was tagged by @deadtossedwaves to do the #unreadtag And share five books from my to read list: 1. Our Dark Duet 2. Now a Major Motion Picture 3. For a Muse of Fire 4. The Queen of Sorrow 5. The Way You Make Me Feel 📚 I was also tagged to do the #last5reads tag: 1. All Summer Long 2. Emergency Contact 3. Votes for Women 4. The Wicked King 5. Be Prepared 📚 Feel free to rage yourself in for either tag (or both!) 📚 #instabooks #currentlyreading #amreading #instareads #bookgram #bookworm #bookblogging #bookblogger #bookstagrammer #bibliophile #booklove #bookphotography #instabook #reader #booktography #bookstagram #igreads #booksofinstagram #goodreads #bookaholic #bookish #bookishfeature #bookstafeatures #bookstagramfeature #readersofinstagram #unitedbookstagram #icapturethecastle #dodiesmith
