It was very nice to be able to walk around at lunch or after work. I am getting ready for my training next week and all is going to plan though it’s been the kind of week where I still don’t feel like I’m doing enough.
This week I read Scott Westerfeld’s new comic Spill Zone. It’s a lot of fun and if you want to read most of it early, the comic is being posted online in six page chunks here: http://www.thespillzone.com/
I also read Piper Perish which was charming. Right now I am halfway through Flannery by Lisa Moore. I think I’m liking it. The style is unique and it’s not as light as I had expected but it’s holding enough of my attention that I am going to finish it.

I finished my first Sarah Dessen book, and I enjoyed it. Some of the references, I think, would be a little dated to teen readers of 2017, but those references endeared itself to me. I’m still reading Burn Baby Burn by Meg Medina. So far, it’s one of the books from the Amelia Bloom Project’s list that hasn’t sent me into a complete triggered state. Also reading a rather PG-13 romance novel called Size Matters, and I’m making great progress which I haven’t done in awhile with any books, really. Finally, I just checked out the Hate U Give. With the current political climate, I’m wondering if I should read it. My feelings are riding close the surface. :-)

Yay for good reading! I am hoping to read another Sarah Dessen at some point this year–I just have to commit. I have heard The Hate U Give is very powerful and timely so make of that what you will.
