Week in Review: June 7

This week on the blog you can check out:

I’m finally feeling back in the swing of things after BEA. You can watch for a BEA book haul post on Monday and my recap on Tuesday. They took a lot longer to organize than I expected but I had a great time writing up BEA this year. It was a blast.

On Monday I went with my mom to her doctor’s appointment. We’re working on overhauling our menus to start eating things that will help her keep her diabetes better in check. It’s really confusing and kind of tedious but I think we’re in good shape so far.

Tuesday was my one-year anniversary at my place of employ. I still feel pretty new but it was a nice milestone and it was fun to think about how much things have changed in just one year.

The rest of the week was insanity at work because of Summer Reading (if you are a librarian, you will know exactly what I mean) and my first outreach to a high school. Later this month I’ll be posting some of my booktalks for anyone interested.

And I almost forgot! I’m part of the Vengeance Road Posse for Vengeance Road by Erin Bowman. I’m pretty excited about this title so I’m excited to be part of the street team promoting it.

I don’t have a lot of details yet but I think it’s safe to say, expect some fun posts related to Vengeance Road to come!

This week I finished reading Scarlet just in time for Monday’s signing. I really loved it and feel silly for not trying it sooner. Kayla now has a lot of leverage to shove books at me because she was totally right about this one.

After that I picked up Rebel Mechanics–it’s not out until July but I needed a steampunk fix and I have been so excited about it. Happily, it did not disappoint. More to come closer to the release date.

Since I worked Saturday I also got to start Magonia on my commute home.
