Top Ten Tuesday: Ten Contemporary Books I Want to Read

Ten contemporary books I want to read (and will maybe read for Kayla and Veronica’s Contemporary Conversations?)

  1. The Lucy Variations by Sara Zarr
  2. Even in Paradise by Chelsea Philpot
  3. I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson
  4. Falling Into Place by Amy Zhang
  5. Honey, Baby, Sweetheart by Deb Caletti
  6. She is Not Invisible by Marcus Sedgwick
  7. Racing Savannah by Miranda Kenneally
  8. I Am Princess X by Cherie Priest
  9. The Secrets We Keep by Trisha Leaver
  10. The Summer of Firsts and Lasts by Terra Elan McVoy

With the exception of The Secrets We Keep, all of these books are published and in my possession (The Secrets We Keep is unpublished and in my possession) but I had to really comb through my TBR list to find them. This list also made it abundantly clear that I really do read fantasy first and foremost.

  1. I enjoyed She is Not Invisible, and it was a very quick read. You could probably knock it out in a day! I actually liked it more than Ghosts :^

  2. My rec from this list (because I am awesome and returning the favor for what you did with historical fantasy for me) would be Racing Savannah (yay girl power!) for sure. I’m about to read I’ll Give You the Sun next week I think, so I can let you know then if you’d like it or not maybe? I’ve also heard that Falling Into Place is amazing, and I own that one as well!

    • Many people have been nudging me with Racing Savannah lol. I always look forward to hearing what you think about books so please do keep me posted with I’ll Give You the Sun–I’ve heard some mixed things.
