Winter Break Book Blogger Challenge 1: Favorite Books Set in Wintertime

My blogger/twitter friends Andi and Amanda are hosting a blogger challenge this winter and I’m participating so for the next few days you can admire their lovely challenge graphic and follow along with my posts:

So today’s topic is Favorite Books Set in the Winter

Dash and Lily's Book of Dares by David Levithan and Rachel CohnFracture cover

My first and foremost favorite is Dash and Lily’s Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan. I love the Christmas-y atmosphere. I love Dash. I love Lily. Nicole and I even do a “Dash and Lily” day adventure every Christmas season now to try and do things that Dash and Lily would approve of including, of course, a visit to The Strand and a holiday movie!

My second (and really only other because there aren’t a lot of books where the winter setting is central to the story) favorite is Fracture by Megan Miranda. Miranda’s writing in this book is electric with a clever plot and lots of twists. It also features a winter landscape that is so well-described it’s practically another character. I loved this one so much I reached out to Miranda for an interview which you can read on the blog too.

You can see all of the wintery books I’ve reviewed on the blog under my “winter” tag. (I’m a bit surprised and ashamed at how few there are.)
