Top Ten Tuesday: New to Me Authors

Top Ten Tuesdays img by Miss Print

Since debut authors are new to everyone I decided to limit myself to authors who had previously published titles who I was reading for the first time this year. There were a lot of pleasant surprises but, sadly, also a few disappointments. (Considering the amount I read I did not read a lot of “new to me” authors so I’m just going to go ahead and list them all.)

  1. Drama by Raina Telgemeier
  2. Unbreak My Heart by Melissa C. Walker
  3. Dust Girl by Sarah Zettel
  4. Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein
  5. Magisterium by Jeff Hirsch
  6. The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey
  7. Fathomless by Jackson Pearce
  8. Rift by Andrea Cremer
  9. The Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick
  10. The Lost Sun by Tessa Gratton
  11. Starry Nights by Daisy Whitney
  12. The Beginning of Everything by Robyn Schneider
  13. Wither by Lauren DeStefano
  14. Tandem by Anna Jarzab
  15. The Caged Graves by Dianne K. Salerni
  16. More Than This by Patrick Ness

Shockingly that’s it for new (to me) authors who were no debuts. I always knew I read a lot of newer fiction but I’m surprised that this is it for established authors I hadn’t read previously.

  1. I really liked The Caged Graves and have been hoping more people will pick it up! And Code Name Verity was definitely my top book last year.

    1. Whoops. I’ve read her short stories too *facepalm*. I had very mixed feelings about More Than This–definitely have to go back and try something else by him.

  2. I haven’t read any of these, but I have The 5th Wave on my shelf. And I keep going back and forth on Tandem – I can’t decide if i want to risk it or not since I’ve seen a lot of mixed reviews.
