Signing up for bloglines is paying off in spades (or whatever it’s supposed to pay off in when you use that saying) because I’m actually getting news from the book world in a timely manner now.
Unfortunately, today it was sad news.
Diana Wynne Jones, the fantasy writing goddess who brought the world Howl’s Moving Castle, Fire and Hemlock and about a million other fantastically amazing and wonderful books, is battling lung cancer.
I just heard about in Leila’s post over at Bookshelves of Doom and she heard about it from some other book bloggers. But the gossip chain is not the point here. The point is, if you love Diana Wynne Jones and think maybe that her books made your life better and made you who you are today or what not, you should tell her because it will cheer her up. And because it’s true and she should know.
