Near closing time “Bear” announced that he was taking a truck of books away from the crowded circulation area.

Bear: “I’m taking this cart upstairs. Miss Print, you take over. You’re a librarian trainee–use your skills.”

Miss Print: “Is that like being deputized?”

Bear: “Kind of. But you don’t get to shoot anyone.”
