I’m allergic to dust, not you

Second day of work at new job: I start sneezing as soon as I enter the library and don’t stop until around ten or eleven that evening. I ran out of tissues and was sneezing into paper towels I found in the staff area approximately every five seconds. For three and a half hours. My nose was bright red. Fabulous.

Anyway, I came in today and my branch librarian (along with everyone else) asked if I was feeling better.

Miss Print: “Yes, much better. It was just a bad allergy attack and irritation. Bad combination.”

Branch Librarian: “Oh, good. I was starting to worry that maybe you were allergic to us.”
